On May 30, Sue Roberts, Vice President for International Affairs at the University of Kentucky, together with three other colleagues, visited Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT).
During their meeting, Gu Wei, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of ZJUT, said that ZJUT always pursues internationalization and openness.He hoped that, through this visit and meeting, the two sides would engage inall-round cooperation, including student exchange, teacher exchange, and scientificresearch in such fields as engineering, pharmacy, and business.
Vice President Roberts said that the visit enhanced mutual understanding. The two universities shared many common grounds and complemented each other well. He hoped that the two sides would establish strategic cooperative relations anddevelop in-depth and comprehensive cooperation.
The two sides carried on a detailed discussion on the cooperation models of summer programs and student joint-training programs, and reached a preliminary consensus for signing a memorandum of cooperation.
The University of Kentucky, founded in 1865, is a public research university in the U.S. with about 35,000 students and 12,000 faculty and staff, and boasts two Nobel laureates.
