On October 30, the "Biology+" International Youth Science and Technology Works Exhibition and Evaluation Conference opened in Hangzhou Liangzhu Life Science and Technology Town. Zheng Yuguo, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Chen Jie, Vice Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of ZJUT, attended the conference.

With the theme of "Engineering Biology and Biotechnology Engineering Application Exploration", the conference focused on scientific and technological issues in the field of life sciences, covering life, health, agriculture, food, ecology, and environmental disciplines, and The conference actively explored on cultivating university talents under the new situation which will help Zhejiang build three high-tech innovation highlands of "Internet +", life and health, and new materials. Nearly 500 experts, scholars, industry leaders, and young students from relevant government, universities, associations and enterprises participated in the event, and nearly 40,000 people joined virtually.

Professor Randy Schekman, winner of the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, attended the conference virtually and delivered a speech "How cells export proteins and the application of basic science to medical advances". Professor Zheng Yuguo, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Yu Hao, academician of the Singapore Academy of Sciences, as well as a number of university scholars and industry leaders, shared their latest research results of the cutting-edge topics of biological sciences.

The conference also carried out online and offline academic defenses. 20 evaluating teams and 33 participating teams from more than 20 top universities around the world which included the ZJUT-iGEM team of the College of Biotechnology and Bioengineering of our university participated.
